Welcome to the Research & Evaluation Division in Public Health Wales, part of the Knowledge Directorate.
We are an experienced multi-disciplinary team, who apply critical thinking and academic rigour to real world challenges. With expertise in statistics, health economics, evidence reviews, and qualitative and quantitative methods, we undertake a wide range of public health research and evaluation projects that generate new evidence to inform policy and practice.
We work collaboratively across Public Health Wales and with external academic and partner organisations. We are also keen to facilitate and extend our research links across Public Health Wales with new national and international partners.
We receive funding from Health and Care Research Wales to support the delivery of the Public Health Wales’ Research and Evaluation Strategy (2019-2025). We also support the development of research and evaluation within Public Health Wales, including providing central research management and governance functions. We also manage the R&D Community and deliver the annual Research and Evaluation conference for population health in Wales, both facilitating opportunities to link practitioners and researchers with common interests.
The Research and Evaluation Division publishes and contributes to a range of projects aligned to the organisational strategic priorities including reviews, briefings, research papers, strategies and toolkits.
