Welcome to the Research & Evaluation Division in Public Health Wales, part of the Knowledge Directorate.
We are an experienced multi-disciplinary team, who apply critical thinking and academic rigour to real world challenges. With expertise in statistics, health economics, evidence reviews, and qualitative and quantitative methods, we undertake a wide range of public health research and evaluation projects that generate new evidence to inform policy and practice. For an overview of our recent publications and activities see here.
We work collaboratively across Public Health Wales and with external academic and partner organisations. We are also keen to facilitate and extend our research links across Public Health Wales with new national and international partners.
We support the development of research and evaluation within Public Health Wales, working in partnership to implement the Public Health Wales’ Research and Evaluation Strategy (2019-2025). We also receive funding from Health and Care Research Wales to support the development and delivery of research within the organisation, and provide the central research management and governance functions. For an overview of research activities from across the organisation, see our Research Highlights report.
The Research and Evaluation Division publishes and contributes to a range of projects aligned to the organisational strategic priorities including reviews, briefings, research papers, strategies and toolkits.
