Leading research to understand experiences of self-isolation

The Research and Evaluation Division is working with Beaufort Research Agency and Healthcare Communications to understand people’s experiences of self-isolation and the support available to help others during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We know that following guidance to self-isolate when you are a contact of someone who has tested positive for Coronavirus is key to stopping its spread.

We also know from research that self-isolation can be challenging.

That’s why we’ve asked Beaufort Research and Healthcare Communications to help us understand why self-isolation can be a challenge.  We need to find this out so that we can use this information to help others across Wales during the pandemic.

We are running two different studies:

  • ACTS is a short text message survey that is being done on Public Health Wales’ behalf by Healthcare Communications.

  • CABINS is a telephone survey that is being done on Public Health Wales’ behalf by Beaufort Research Agency.
