Will the vaccine protect those I care for?

There is good evidence that COVID-19 vaccination reduces the chance of you passing on the virus.
Studies have shown that vaccines are effective at preventing COVID-19 infection. Uninfected individuals cannot transmit so this means the vaccines are also effective at preventing passing on the COVID-19 virus.

Some vaccinated people may get mild or asymptomatic infection but there is evidence that they will be less likely to pass on the virus. Vaccinated health and social care staff will be less likely to pass COVID-19 infection to those they care for.

As there is still a chance you might get or spread coronavirus, even if you have the vaccine, it is important you continue to follow the COVID-19 guidance in your workplace and your personal life to protect those around you.
