About the course 

Human factors are the ways that people interact with systems, processes, technology, and each other in different situations. This can help you understand the fit between human capabilities, limitations, and the design of work and environment. This course will teach you how to apply human factors principles and tools to reduce errors, improve processes that support patient safety, and foster a positive safety culture in your organisation.  

In this course, you will learn about: 

  • What human factors are and why they matter in healthcare 

  • How human error happens and how our brain works 

  • How situational awareness and human behaviours influence performance and safety 

  • How to prevent and mitigate human error and improve situational awareness
