Public Health Wales is the national public health agency in Wales. We exist to protect and improve health and well-being and reduce health inequalities for people in Wales.
We are part of the National Health Service (NHS) of Wales and report to the Minister for Health and Social Services in the Welsh Government.
Our Long Term Strategy Working to Achieve a Healthier Future for Wales sets out seven strategic priorities to 2030.
Priority five, protecting the public from infection and environmental threats to health, sets out the approach and long term investment in the development of the National Infection Service.
The service is in an exciting period of development, with additional investment for 54 new posts across the national network.
