Speaking to your child about Coronavirus

Life has changed significantly for most children, with their usual routines changed or stopped completely. Some children may be feeling anxious or unsettled by the information they are hearing from the news and conversations between their parents or other adults.  As parents, it is important that we talk to our children in a calm and knowledgeable way. The Young Minds charity has put together a list of top tips to help you talk to your child.

For younger children you might want to try reading them books that help explain coronavirus and the measures taken to control it to children. You could try Early Years Story Box’s ‘Don’t Worry Little Bear’  or ‘Coronavirus - a book for children’ by Axel Scheffler which has been written for primary school aged children.
