Keeping you safe

Taking part in screening is something you can do to look after your health.

Bowel screening is a test you can complete at home. It looks for hidden blood in your poo. Blood in your poo can be a sign of bowel cancer or other changes such as polyps (small growths).

If you are invited back for further tests, talk to your screening nurse about how your appointment will take place at the hospital. They will explain what they are doing to keep you safe during your appointment.

Remember, to stop the spread of infection, do not attend if you are unwell.

Contact us if you:
  • Have any questions/concerns or need support on how to do your bowel test kit.
  • Need another bowel test kit.
  • Would like to speak to someone about what your results mean.
Contact your doctor’s surgery if you:
  • Are worried about any changes in your health. Do not wait to be invited for screening.
