Following a “Keep Wales Safe” campaign appearing in the Chester Standard (England, circulation not recorded by ABC etc) on April 14th 2022 I am looking to discover wider detail on promotional spend. I have recently placed a similar query with all councils in Wales.
I would like to request the total spend excluding VAT on placing notices or advertisements, promotions or similar of any kind in any publication, display, audio, in print or digitally.
I would like to request the totals per publishing entity placed with, eg. but not limited to; Newsquest, Reach PLC, Global Radio, Facebook, Twitter, Vivid Outdoor, Clear Channel, or Golley Slater.
If it is possible to provide a break down of type of spend per total per publisher eg. the split or explanatory labelling between recruitment advertising, public information, statutory notices, event promotional, or specific campaign advertising and the like that would be greatly appreciated - however not required.
If the titles of the publications the adverts appeared in are known, can they be included alongside the publishers name, again appreciated but not required.
I would like to request the totals yearly per entity for recent financial years:
2018-2019
2019-2020
2020-2021
and for this financial year to date.
Thank you for your recent request dated 22 April 2022.
Please find attached expenditure for ‘Advertising and staff recruitment’. This is the relevant code in our financial ledger which would best meet the requirements of this request. As the code includes staff recruitment, there will be items like costs for DBS checks, interview expenses, room hire for interviews etc. These costs might not be applicable to the request but can’t be easily removed. Other items included under this code include things like spend on promotional items (bags, pens etc.) and services used to support promotional activities (photographers, translators, printing).
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of the decision, you should write to the Corporate Complaints Manager, Public Health Wales NHS Trust, 3, Number 2, Capital Quarter, Tyndall Street, Cardiff, CF10 4BZ.
If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint or review, you may apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the Trust. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:
