FOI 2024 029 - Pay awards

Information Requested:

I am researching executive pay in the NHS and it appears as if colleagues in Wales on VSM contracts are the only staff group not to receive a pay award this year.

My questions are please:

Why have VSMs not received a pay award?

Is there a plan to make an award for 23/24?

When will this be?

What percentage will it be?

You will be aware that England made a 5% award some months ago to vsm staff reflect the difficult operational challenges.

Why haven’t Wales followed suit?

Does NHS Wales not value the contribution made by vsm staff?

Have NHS Wales Executive vsm staff received a pay award this year?
