FOI 2024 028 - Covid Vaccine Query

Information Requested:

I note from the public Tableau that the uptake of the autumn 2023 booster campaign is 53% of the 1.3 million people identified as potentially eligible as of 2024-01-25.

Could you please tell me:

1. How many vaccine doses were procured to deliver this campaign?

2. How many of these doses have been used (either administered or otherwise spoiled)?

3. What will happen to any unused doses once the campaign ends on 2024-04-01?

4. Are there any plans to make doses available to those outside of the currently-eligible groups, to gain maximum value for public money and avoid throwing away valuable potentially life-saving resources? If not, why not?

5. Are there plans to enable currently-ineligible people to be vaccinated privately after 2024-04-01, as is the case in England and Scotland? If not, why not?
