Shielding measures paused

The advice from Welsh Government regarding people in the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (shielding) category has changed, with effect from 1 April 2021.

The Chief Medical Officer has determined that in light of the current context of significantly lower cases across Wales, shielding measures should be paused on 31 March. 

This means that discussions can now commence between line managers and Clinically Extremely Vulnerable employees, who are not able to work from home, to facilitate their return to the workplace - as long as the workplace has been subject to a risk assessment and is Covid-secure.

These discussions must be facilitated by the risk assessment tool, which has been updated in light of the revised advice. This can be found at https://gov.wales/covid-19-workforce-risk-assessment-tool
