Adults born in the UK before 1970 are likely to have had measles, mumps and rubella as a child, so may already be protected. If you are not sure whether you have had these infections and are concerned, discuss it with your GP or nurse. If you were born after 1970, you should make sure that you have had two MMR doses in the past. Even if you think you have had the vaccines before but aren’t sure or have no record of this, it is safe to have further doses.
