In 2006, the National Public Health Service for Wales (NPHS) engaged with a group of key stakeholders to define and agree a common core profile for each of the 22 Local Health Boards (LHB). The aim of this work was to assist LHBs with the health needs assessment part of the Health Social Care and Well-being Strategies. Health status and key determinants
These documents contain specific information to assist Local Health Boards (LHBs) with the 2006 round of health needs assessment. Analysis at a sub-LHB level is crucial to the identification of need. Whenever possible and feasible, data have been presented at the sub-LHB level.
It is essential that each LHB specific document is used together with the health needs assessment chapters produced by the Health Information Analysis Team and other public health experts. Links for each of the individual chapters are included within the relevant sections of these documents.
