Nurse Lead

Martine is the nurse lead at Improvement Cymru. She has worked in the NHS for over 34 years; clinical roles have been varied and include ward sister posts mainly on surgical wards, nurse practitioner roles and in education as a lecturer practitioner. Martine has significant executive board experience as a Director of Nursing in Wales and England. 

Martine has expertise in patient safety improvement and person centred care, having facilitated learning collaboratives across the UK. She has worked with clinical teams to set up Schwartz rounds and has regularly facilitated rounds.

Martine has an MSc in Nursing with a focus on leadership and has completed training in Narrative Action Learning, Institute of Health Improvement (IHI) Patient Safety Officer training and recently she undertook Breakthrough Series College. Martine is an active coach and has completed the ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring. Martine has a particular interest in person centred care and developing healthcare staff to deliver high quality care.
