FOI 959 - Alcohol Consumption and pricing

 

Information Requested:

Under the FoI Act I would like to know just how many deaths have been prevented by 1..The imposition of the Minimum Pricing Act and 2.  The amount of tax gained by the imposition of the tax, and 3.  Where that tax has been spent and 4.  Whether there are any plans for a review.

Thank you for your recent request dated 30th June 2022. 

Public Health Wales does not hold the information you require. Public Health Wales has not conducted any research into the possibility of deaths prevented by the Minimum Pricing Act. The Act is a policy decision that has been made by Welsh Government and they may hold the information you have requested. Their contact details can be found here:
