FOI 2024 015 - Children with measles and vaccination status

Information Requested:

I would please like to request the information regarding the number of children hospitalised with Measles in Wales.

How many children who were hospitalised in the last 5 years had received the MMR vaccine and how many had not received the MMR vaccine? Could you please provide the information regarding the reasons for admissions to hospital for both vaccinated and unvaccinated children?

Information provided for the answer:

Thank you for your request dated 21st January 2024.

Public Health Wales do not hold information relating to the hospitalisation of children and so would be unable to fulfil this request.

Public Health Wales is the public health service for Wales and as such is an independent NHS Trust. Therefore, do not have access to this information. As an organisation we have no jurisdiction over the activities of Health Boards and frequently do not have access to the data that they produce.  I have provided contact details for each Health Board below, you would need to contact them individually for the information they hold.
