Information Requested:

Please can you provide the NRIs for each Health Board FYs 18/19 to 22/23
This information is available for England
Public Health Wales

But not for Wales
there appears to be significant disparities in BCUHB reporting both in terms of NRIs* and when NRIs are compared to OfW reporting
see Dir of Nursing Report 185 HaPUs 22/33 on 25b Wards alone 22/23 and NRI report Below 57  HaPUs Total for Year 22/23

Board Quality Report - Patient Safety

Section 25E (2b) Impact on care due to not maintaining the nurses staffing levels in adult acute medical & surgical inpatients wards

Information provided for the answer:

Thank you for your recent request dated 7th July 2023.

NRIs & SIs Received

Regarding potential reporting disparity in relation to HAPUs. The NHS Wales Executive does not hold locally reported incident data and is therefore unable to respond to this part of the request. The locally reported incident data is held by the relevant Health Board/Trust so we suggest that BCUHB be asked to respond to this part of the request. I have attached their contact details below.
