FOI 2023 204 - Respiratory diagnostic equipment


Information Requested:

Could you please provide me with some information on what Respiratory Diagnostic Equipment (PFT,CPET, Spirometers, FeNo and so on) are currently in use across all the Hospitals and clinics within you NHS Trust. 

I am particularly interested in the equipment in the following departments or similar departments: 

-Cardio Respiratory 

-Pulmonary Function 

-Cystic Fibrosis 



-Chest Clinic 


-Occupational Health 

-Primary Care 

-Preoperative Assessment 


I would like to know the following please: 

1. The number of current devices in use 

2. Manufacturer and type of device 

3. Which hospitals and departments are they in 4. Date of installation 5. Which disposable bacterial/viral filter is being used for lung function testing. 

Please can you respond in spread sheet form?

Thank you for your request dated 14th December 2023. 


Public Health Wales does not provide respiratory and lung function testing services as set out in the request.  These are provided by Health Boards as part of their secondary care services.  


Public Health Wales is the public health service for Wales and as such is an independent NHS Trust. Therefore, do not have access to this information. As an organisation we have no jurisdiction over the activities of Health Boards and other NHS Wales organisations and frequently do not have access to the data that they produce.
