Qu 1. How many new permanent hires joined your organisation in 2022?

Qu 4. What is your time to hire from adverting to onboarding?

Thank you for your recent request dated 19th September 2023.

Qu 1. How many new permanent hires joined your organisation in 2022?
We had 291 new permanent hires in 2022.

 

Qu 2. How many new permanent hires came through external providers in 2022?
Public Health Wales (PHW) does not hold this information.  NHS Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) should hold this information. Contact details will be provided below all the questions.

 

Qu 3. How many team members work in your Recruitment Team?
Recruitment for PHW is conducted by NWSSP, Recruitment Shared Services. Please see below the questions for the contact details for NWSSP.

 

Qu 4. What is your time to hire from adverting to onboarding?
We have a target time to hire from vacancy creation to ready for start date of 71 working days, However, we currently (figure for month August 2023) have an average of 60 working days.

 

Qu 5. What was your attrition rate in 2022?
Our attrition rate in 2022 was 20.3%

 

Qu 6. What is your average cost per hire (including attraction and screening) in 2022?
Public Health Wales have a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with NWSSP Recruitment Shared Services for them to carry out Recruitment on our behalf. Please see below the questions for the contact details for NWSSP.

 

Qu 7. How much did you spend with external providers of permanent recruitment in 2022?
Recruitment for PHW is conducted by NWSSP, Recruitment Shared Services. Please see below the questions for the contact details for NWSSP.

 

Qu 8. How many unique agency contractors/temps/interims did you use in 2022?
PHW report this on a financial year basis.

For financial year 2021-22 PHW used an average of 96 whole time equivalent agency staff.

For financial year 2022-23 PHW used an average of 79 whole time equivalent agency staff.

 

Qu 9. How much did you spend on agency contractors/temps/interims in 2022?
PHW report this on a financial year basis.

For financial year 2021-22 PHW spent £5.112m on agency staff.

For financial year 2022-23 PHW spent £4.459m on agency staff.

 

Qu 10. Are you meeting your diversity targets? (yes or no)

Qu 11. How many candidates applied for roles in 2022? What is your candidate drop-out rate?
In 2022 we had 4736 applicants for our vacancies. 434 of these withdrew their application in various stages of the recruitment process, and so we had a 9.16% drop-out rate.

 

Qu 12. Which systems do you use for your permanent recruitment process?
We use TRAC for our recruitment process.
