Information Requested:

Could you please provide me with the following information. What percentage of children in Wales diagnosed with 'Strep A' infection have received the Covid 19 vaccine in 2022, and what percentage of children in Wales diagnosed with 'Strep A' infection have received the Flu vaccine in 2022.

Information provided for the answer:

Thank you for your request dated 21st December 2022.
Public Health Wales do not routinely and systematically collect this information. To ascertain flu vaccination status we would have to enquire on a child by child basis with GPs and school nursing teams.
UK Health Security Agency recently released this information from a look-back on lower rates of group A streptococcal infections following introduction of childhood flu vaccination in pilot sites in England, which may be of interest to you: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/nasal-flu-vaccine-may-help-reduce-cases-of-group-a-strep
