Not all disabilities are visible
The International Day of Disabled People is held on 3 December each year, and is held to focus on issues that affect disabled people worldwide.
The theme for 2020 is 'Not All Disabilities Are Visible' and aims to raise awareness of disabilities which may not be immediately apparent but can still have an impact on people's lives.
To mark this year’s event, staff across the organisation have sent in “purlfies” - pictures of themselves wearing purple - Purple is internationally recognised as the colour to represent Disability. You may recognise a few people in the pictures!
In Public Health Wales, the Disabled Staff Network has been in place for almost two years, and continues to grow each month. The network has now been named the Porffor (Purple) Network.
If you would like to find out more about the work they do and how you can support them either as a member or as an ally please contact the Chair of the Network, Rhian.gleed@wales.nhs.uk :
