How you can share files on the new O365 Platforms
You can now share files and document with your colleagues through Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive. There are some variations in each platform, which are detailed below.
OneDrive
OneDrive will be your go-to place to store your personal work files. These files are not immediately visible to your team members unlike with SharePoint and Teams. You can decide if and when you want to share documents on this platform.
Teams
When you upload a file from your computer to Teams, it goes into the "Files" tab of the channel you uploaded it in Teams is great for sharing files with your colleagues for instant group editing and information, if a colleague edits the document in Teams it will save those changes for everyone to see.
SharePoint Online
SharePoint is a web-based platform where you can create websites and store documents for colleagues to access. It provides you with a central location to view the most recent versions of group documents.
These new products can be used to increase collaboration based on your requirements. You should use OneDrive to store personal files related to work or for saving unfinished drafts. When you have a file that is ready to be shared with your team, you can then upload it to your Microsoft Teams channel which automatically stores it in your Team’s SharePoint library.
