Academi Wales Summer School 2021 – Application Process

Published: 8 April 2021

Academi Wales’ Summer School will once again be run virtually this year, between 22nd and 24th June 2021.

Aimed at senior managers and leaders, this year’s theme is Leading for All – Recover, Renew, Regenerate, with details on speakers and the full, three-day event on their website.

Each year, Public Health Wales is fortunate to be offered a number of guaranteed places.

However, owing to restrictions on numbers, we have just one allocated place and Academi Wales have asked all organisations to consider nominations specifically from under-represented groups.

How to apply for the nominated place

We have identified the following groups as being under-represented across senior management and leadership groups in Public Health Wales:

  • BAME
  • LGBT
  • Women
  • Colleagues with a disability
Colleagues within the above groups who are keen to participate in Summer School (and can commit to all dates) are asked to submit a short expression of interest to Lisa.Whiteman@wales.nhs.uk , Head of OD, Design and Learning no later than Friday 16th April.

Please note, if successful, a full application will still need to be submitted to Academi Wales by Friday 23rd April.

Applying for an open place

Further to the places allocated to organisations, Academi Wales have a number of ‘open’ places for which anyone can apply.

Applications will be considered and approved by Academi Wales alone, but People and Organisational Development will be advising them from whom to expect an application.

As such, please advise Lisa.Whiteman@wales.nhs.uk if you intend to apply, no later than Wednesday 21st April, and send your application to Academi Wales by 23rd April.

Please note, all successful applications will need to be funded locally.
