Does the nasal spray flu vaccine have any side effects?

For a day or two after vaccination, some children and young people may:

  • Get a temperature
  • Feel tired
  • Have a headache
  • Have aching muscles
  • Have a reduced appetite
  • Get a runny or blocked nose

Flu vaccines are very safe and other reactions are less common.

The flu vaccine will not cause flu.
