The UK Anaerobe Reference Unit (UKARU) will be introducing charges for some of its services from 1st April 2025. These charges follow similar principles applied by UKHSA reference laboratories and are detailed on our website.
Charges will apply for the testing of isolates that are covered by the recently published EUCAST ‘Disk diffusion method for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing of Commonly Isolated Anaerobic Bacteria’ (eucast: Disk diffusion methodology). If you are interested in utilising this method and would like further guidance or support including the purchasing of a challenge set, please contact us on the email below.
Tests with public health implications and isolates for antimicrobial resistance surveillance will not incur a charge. If you believe that your isolate meets these criteria or wish to discuss individual circumstances, please contact us before submission of strains.
Our portfolio of offered tests has not changed and we continue to welcome submission of anaerobes for identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
From 1st April 2025, we are also able to offer electronic transmission of results via our secure file share portal. Should you wish to switch from paper reports to electronic transmission, please contact us on the email below.
