The Dental Public Health Team provides leadership, strategic advice and support for oral health and dental services improvement. The team works in partnership with the health boards, the Welsh Government, Health Education and Improvement Wales and other stakeholders in Wales and beyond.
The Team provides:
- Leadership and support to oral health surveillance programmes.
- Leadership and support to programmes that aim to improve population oral health and outcomes of dental services.
- Advice and support in development of policy and strategy on oral health and dental services.
- Advice and support for local oral health needs assessments.
- Advice and support for implementation of national and local oral health action plans.
- Advice and support for improvement in dental quality and safety systems in place.
- Advice and support for monitoring and evaluation of oral health and dental services programmes.
- Training in the Specialty of Dental Public Health.
- Advice and support on research and teaching on areas related to dental public health programmes.
