Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) standards are well embedded in maternity and health visiting services across Wales, however neonatal units have work to do embedding them with only two health boards having fully accredited services.
The CTMUHB neonatal infant feeding team shared their experience of successful assessment across the two units in the health board.
This will be of interest to other services in the light of recent recommendations from the MatNeoSSP Discovery Phase report that all Welsh neonatal units should aim for accreditation.
