Have your say on the draft Curriculum for Wales 2022

Invitation to stakeholder workshop event for the Health and Well-being Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE) of the draft Curriculum for Wales 2022

Following a successful workshop event held last year, Public Health Wales will be hosting a stakeholder engagement workshop at the Grand Hotel in Swansea, on June 5 2019, to find out more about and discuss the recently published Health and Well-being Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE) which forms part of the draft Curriculum for Wales 2022.

The new curriculum, scheduled for a phased introduction from September 2022, seeks to place health and wellbeing at the heart of the school community by making it one of the six core Areas of Learning and Experience (AoLE).

The new curriculum has been developed by teachers for teachers and shaped by experts from Wales and across the world. The draft Curriculum for Wales 2022 has been designed for all learners aged 3-16 in non-maintained settings and schools.

The workshop invites a range of stakeholders from across sectors including health, local government, third sector and academia to hear in detail about the process which has lead to the publication of the draft curriculum. There will be an opportunity to discuss the detail of the Health and Well-being AoLE, to provide feedback on the draft content and to make suggestions for refinement.

The review period for the draft Curriculum for Wales 2022 will end on 19 July 2019.

It is important for attendees to read the documentation produced by the Health and Well-being AoLE group prior to the event.
