Oral health intelligence
Oral Health Intelligence provides evidence and insights to support the improvement of oral health across Wales. Public Health Wales analyses and reports on a range of data sources relating to oral health, oral disease, service use, prevention programmes, and population health outcomes. This includes information on mouth cancer, dental epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), children’s oral health, and oral health inequalities. The intelligence produced helps inform policy, prevention strategies, service planning, and decision-making to support the delivery of high-quality dental services and improve oral health outcomes for the people of Wales.

Dental epidemiology data
The Dental Epidemiology Programme for Wales monitors the oral health of children and selected adult population groups through regular surveys. The programme provides valuable information on dental disease prevalence, oral health inequalities, and impacts on quality of life, supporting future service planning and prevention initiatives.
