FOI 2024 065 - Flexible working requests

Information Requested:

(Jan 21 to current date) and I would really appreciate if you could support by answering the questions below, or signposting me to someone who can help within your organisation

Questions : How many requests for flexible working hours did you receive and how many of those were approved? Is there a significant difference in any variables such as productivity, satisfaction, etc. of people working flexible hours and people working fixed hours? Any data you have will extremely useful.

Information provided for the answer:

Thank you for your recent request.

Since January 2021 we have recorded 538 requests for flexible working to the people support team and of those 10 were rejected.

We have no information in relation to the experience of those staff compared to those working fixed hours as this information is not held.

Please note that this information is for Public Health Wales (PHW) only.

PHW is the public health service for Wales and as such is an independent NHS Trust. Therefore, as an organisation we have no jurisdiction over the activities of Health Boards and other NHS Wales organisations. This means we frequently do not have access to the data that they produce. You will need to contact other NHS Wales organisations/Health Boards separately for any information they hold.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of the decision, you should write to the Corporate Complaints Manager, Public Health Wales NHS Trust, 3, Number 2, Capital Quarter, Tyndall Street, Cardiff, CF10 4BZ.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint or review, you may apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the Trust. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:
