Information Requested:

We are writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request information. Please provide the following details: 

  1. What software do you use for your payroll, hr and finance solutions, how much annually do you spend on each, when does each contract expire? 

  1. Do you manage your payroll in-house or do you outsource it if so, who do you outsource it to? 

  1. How many people do you pay each month using your payroll solution? 

  1. How many pensioners do you pay using your payroll solution? 

  1. Do you use Microsoft power platform technologies such as Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents? 

  1. What is the employee count at Public Health Wales? 

  1. Do you collaborate with other organisations in the delivery of HR & Payroll shared services? If so which organisation? 

  1. Do you work with any industry experts such as ATOS, KPMG, EY, Accenture etc? 

  1. Who at Public Health Wales is the head of service for HR and Payroll software or services and what is their role?

Thank you for your recent request. 

 

1. What software do you use for your payroll, hr and finance solutions, how much annually do you spend on each, when does each contract expire?  

 

The Payroll and HR software is Oracle ESR and Health Roster. This is a DHSC contract for England and Wales, in place until 2034.  

 

The finance software is Oracle Financials, APEX and QlikSense.  

These solutions are provided via a central all-Wales contract and the organisation is not able to detail individual organisational costs. Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) may hold this information. I will provide their contact details at the end of this response. 

 

2. Do you manage your payroll in-house or do you outsource it if so, who do you outsource it to?  

 

Payroll services are managed on an all-Wales basis for all NHS Wales organisations by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). You will need to contact them individually for this information. I will provide this at the end of the response. 

 

3. How many people do you pay each month using your payroll solution?

4. How many pensioners do you pay using your payroll solution?  

 

None 

5. Do you use Microsoft power platform technologies such as Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents?   

 

Power BI and Power Automate are used to support a small number of HR processes.  

 

There are no Microsoft Power platform technologies in use in Payroll or Finance.  

6. What is the employee count at Public Health Wales?

7. Do you collaborate with other organisations in the delivery of HR & Payroll shared services? If so which organisation?  

 

Payroll services are managed on an all-Wales basis for all NHS Wales organisations by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). 

 

8. Do you work with any industry experts such as ATOS, KPMG, EY, Accenture etc?  

 

No 

 

9. Who at Public Health Wales is the head of service for HR and Payroll software or services and what is their role?  

 

The Assistant Director of Employment Services, NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP).
