Under FOI, I would like to make a request for the following information:
1. Do Public Health Wales utilise off-framework agencies for Nursing or Care, if so which specific Trusts?
2. Which agencies are utilised?
3. How many hours have been covered by off-framework agencies for Nursing and Care December 22-PRESENT?
4. Who at the director level is responsible for patient safety and staffing levels?
Thank you for your recent request dated 20th September 2023.
Public Health Wales only uses employment agencies listed on the Crown Commercial Framework.
The Executive Director for Quality, Nursing and Allied Health (Claire Birchall – Acting Director), and the National Director of Screening and Health Protection Services/MD (Dr. Fu-Meng Khaw) are responsible for patient safety at the director level.
The NHS Wales Safe Nursing Act is the responsibility of the Executive Director for Quality, Nursing and Allied Health (Claire Birchall – Acting Director).
Each director is responsible for staffing levels in their own areas. Please see the names and job titles of our directors below:

As an organisation we have no jurisdiction over the activities of Health Boards and frequently do not have access to the data that they produce.
