What is the job specification for the Community Coordinators? I am aware they are there to help with queries and my team have liaised with one or two for this. But unless we know what their role and brief is, it is difficult to build these into any plans. Also as far as I am aware none have asked to meet with CHT to see what we do, nor understand our position in regards top things like Circuit etc. I would be grateful for this by return please. It was originally promised last December.
I am glad that SaLC are not recommending any particular equipment. It is not part of the SaLC brief to recommend or direct to any particular equipment or supplier. However as SaLC (by your confirmation) developed the ‘brief’ for the “tender” and as you have stated already that you support the outcome of this “tender” then deFacto you are recommending and endorsing the results of this process. Therefore please can you send me the brief that was given to PHW that led to the shambolic process. I did ask for this before but it was never provided. Who developed this brief? When was it agreed by SaLC members that this was an objective and correct brief? I understand the desire to offer guidance, but as we have discussed in the past, the “tender” process with PHW was both unnecessary and comedic, and any result as we have discussed also before, will be irrelevant and subject to challenge. By going through this process, SaLC has allowed itself to be seen to be biased and lacking credibility. I look forward to receiving the brief that was used along with documentation justifying the brief. If it helps you, please use this as an FOI.
As far as I can see there has been no communication as to what defibrillators and cabinets were included and the process for choosing these. Please supply the makes and models of the equipment that ‘won’ the “tender”. Please also supply (again of it helps under FOI) the scoring system used. Please note that not all defibrillators and cabinets were included from what I can see.
As you are aware we are no fan of Circuit. However we have been working with them for the past 20 months trying to help them correct the design faults and issues, and have agreed to mirror our data to Circuit once the issues have been resolved. I think it is unwise that such reliance on Circuit should be made until all the issues have been resolved, and to suggest as you have that part of the role of the Coordinators it to recruit communities to use Circuit, then I assume in openness and transparency they are also advising communities of the issues and shortcomings of this? Please can you confirm this is so. Just so you are aware the English Health Minister has advised communities that ambulance services must have alternative ways to register and manage defibrillators, and not just rely upon one system. I assume WAST will also be looking to set this up too. Circuit is simply a registration system top help ambulance services (when it works), not a governance system to help communities.
