How Does it Work?

Helping Families to Live Healthier Lives

Each pilot area follows a flexible 9-step process, with three interconnecting phases:

•              Phase 1: Defining our system and plan the PIPYN service which will support families directly.

•              Phase 2: Getting the community involved, understanding local needs, and working together to improve the local system.

•              Phase 3: Deciding what system level actions to take, planning, and putting solutions in place.

Extra Support for Families

To make these changes even more effective, PIPYN Family Support Workers are there to help families to build healthier habits together.

How Families Are Supported

Families are supported to build healthier family habits, such as:

  • Healthy Eating – Making mealtimes nutritious and fun.
  • Budgeting – Finding ways to eat well on a budget.
  • Sleeping – Developing better sleep routines.
  • Managing Screen Time – Spending less time on phones, tablets, and TVs.
  • Playing – Having fun while staying active.

Families are also connected with local programs that support healthier eating and active play.

Who Can Get Help?

Families can refer themselves for PIPYN support or be referred by a professional.
