I've previously been identified as a contact but have NOT attended for screening. Do I really need to attend for screening?

Yes.  Even if you are well and have no symptoms, if you have been identified as a contact, you need to be screened. All identified close and household contacts of a case of TB are invited for screening.

This screening is important because it can identify whether you have been infected with TB (latent TB) and/or have developed active TB disease.

We can only diagnose TB if you attend for screening.

Both latent TB infection and active TB can be treated with a course of antibiotics.

Screening can be arranged by contacting Prince Philip Hospital on 01554 756567
