Our Care Home Cymru team, Public Health Wales, and Welsh Government are proud to launch a new online Resource Platform today for Care Home and Domiciliary Staff.
The team recognised that staff from the sectors need to regularly access information from several different online sources which can be both time-consuming and practically difficult in various settings. As the pandemic has added huge pressures on staff time, crucial time savings could be made if staff could access the information in one place, on either a mobile phone or computer.
The Care Home Cymru team develop, embed and deliver system wide improvements across health and social care for the NHS in Wales and work with Welsh Government and partners in the care and domiciliary sector. Working together, they were able to identify the information that staff need to access and they developed a one-stop resource platform to host all the links to those websites.
It is available on both an app (English only) and a website (bilingual), it’s easy to access, (via phone or desktop), in various settings where staff might be during their shift. Links include information on infection control, recognition of deterioration, mental health and wellbeing, COVID-19, training, guidance and useful contacts.
Improvement Cymru would like to make all care home teams and domiciliary staff throughout Wales aware of the resource platform.
Rosalyn Davies, Programme Lead at Improvement Cymru, said: “We are delighted to provide support for care home and domiciliary staff with the resource platform which provides the links busy staff need to stay up-to-date during this difficult time. We would like to thank Public Health Wales, Welsh Government and partners from health and social care for their contributions and support.”
