About the conference

This year’s Welsh Public Health Conference will be taking place on Wednesday 22 October in Glamorgan Cricket, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

Returning for the first time since 2019, this flagship one-day event brings together more than 400 delegates from across Wales – spanning the public, private, academic and third sectors – to share learning and innovation, develop partnerships and network.

This year’s theme is: “action today, for a healthier nation tomorrow.”

The programme will address the root causes that influence individual and community health, including: nutrition, education, housing, physical activity, mental wellness, our natural environment and social connections.

  • Opening address – Tracey Cooper, Chief Executive, Public Health Wales
  • Workshops exploring climate action, the wider determinants of health, healthy behaviours, mental and social wellbeing, the health and care system, and delivering excellent public services,
  • ‘Lightning talks’ – ten-minute presentations on a variety of public health themes
  • Envisioning the future - afternoon panel session.

If you’ve already registered, information on how to register for your chosen workshops will be sent to you shortly. 

If you’ve added yourself to the waiting list, we’ll be in touch to confirm whether you’ve been offered a space as soon as we can.

If you have registered for a space and can no longer make it, please cancel your space on Eventbrite as soon as possible so that we can offer your space to someone else.

  • A vegetarian lunch and refreshments will be provided for all delegates.
  • As part of our commitment to sustainability, we strongly encourage delegates to use sustainable transport methods to get to the venue.
