About this event
Join us for our upcoming webinar exploring the relationship between health inequalities and nature.
Research increasingly shows the wide-ranging health and well-being benefits that nature provides, from creating opportunities for outdoor exercise, to supporting better mental health, and helping reduce the impacts of climate change through measures like increasing shade and lowering temperatures in urban areas.
Together, we’ll explore the evidence linking access to green and blue spaces with health outcomes and consider how nature-based solutions could help improve the lives of those most affected by health inequalities.
We’ll also discuss how climate change disproportionately impacts disadvantaged and marginalised communities and examine whether nature-based interventions can help create cooler, healthier and more resilient neighbourhoods and reduces flood risks.
Learning Outcomes:
- To understand how nature supports health through physical activity and mental well-being and resilience to climate impacts
- To understand how disparities in access to green and blue spaces affect vulnerable groups and marginalised communities
- To identify practical examples of interventions that can support vulnerable communities
- To explore ways to integrate nature into planning, public health strategies and programmes and climate adaptation work.
