Teacher guidance: A Framework for Mental Well-being
This toolkit focuses on developing and maintaining healthy relationships as a key theme within the Health and Well-being Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE).
Teaching and learning about the benefits of healthy relationships should, where possible, link to all Statements of What Matters within the Health and Well-being AoLE. In particular:
- Healthy relationships are fundamental to our well-being.
- Our decision-making impacts on the quality of our lives and the lives of others.
The toolkit supports learners to understand that, throughout their lives, they will experience many different kinds of relationships. Learners will develop the knowledge and skills needed to build strong, respectful relationships and to maintain them over time.
This learning will help them recognise that positive, healthy relationships are important for happiness, well-being and overall health.
