Working in Wales

Life in Wales is like no other. Forget the hours of underground commuting, the hustle and bustle of city life, and immerse yourself in the serenity of Wales.

Cycle through the Brecon Beacons National Park, climb Snowdon or simply relax on one of our beautiful beaches along the Pembrokeshire coast or Gower Peninsula.

Here in Wales we have a unique and outward looking cultural identity, beautiful countryside, and a thriving capital in Cardiff. With a population of three million, our population is every bit as diverse as any other, with a range of age and economic backgrounds building strong and varied communities.

In a country that has a distinct identity and a new found confidence in its future, working in Wales offers more than just a career, but a way of life. Wales really is a great place in which to live and work.

Geography

Wales has great national parks, in Snowdonia you’ll find Mount Snowdon standing proud at over 1000m, the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire coast and a great expanse of rural landscape across the centre.

Its population is primarily based in the South and North Wales coastal belts and in the South Wales valleys.

Culture

The capital city, Cardiff, is a growing commercial, cultural and shopping centre with easy access to attractive urban and rural residential areas linked by rail, air and road transport.

A bilingual nation in which about a fifth of the population speaks Welsh as well as English, Wales has a distinctive Celtic culture found in its music, art and heritage.

Cardiff is home to theatres, including the internationally acclaimed Millennium Centre, concert venues, cinemas, galleries and museums.

The Millennium Stadium is home to Welsh rugby, the SWALEC Stadium is the newest international cricket venue and, in Swansea City, the country hosts a Premiership football team.

Homes in Wales

Where you choose to live is a hugely important factor in any career move and Wales has something to offer everyone. The choice of a city, town or coastal location is all within your gift to choose from here in Wales.

Whether you're looking for a traditional or modern home for you and your family, looking to buy or rent a property, homes in Wales are on average cheaper than the rest of the UK.
