  • SNP Analysis. SNPs in the genes for Dectin 1 and Dendritic Cell-Specific Intercellular adhesion molecule-3-Grabbing Non-integrin (DC-SIGN) can pre-dispose patients to invasive aspergillosis.

MRRU is currently taking a lead role in the revision of the international (European Organisation for the Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) – Mycoses Study Group (MSG)) consensus definitions for the diagnosis of IFD

MRRU leads, contributes and participates in international and national QA schemes for molecular and has a lead in the international efforts to standardise fungal PCR technology.
