Who are the organisations providing this advice?

The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is an organisation established to develop guidelines for diseases and treatments based on the best available evidence, so that health and social care services can offer high quality care.

The Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) review research in order to develop recommendations on our dietary requirements.

The UK and devolved governments use advice from NICE and SACN to develop recommendations.
