In March 2022, the Policy and International Health Directorate within Public Health Wales was re-designated for a further 4 years as a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre (CC) on Investment for Health and Well-being.

The WHO Collaborating Centre develops, collects and shares information and tools on how best to invest in better health, reduce inequalities, and build stronger and more resilient communities in Wales, Europe and Worldwide. For more information about the WHO CC see our work plan.

The Directorate consists of two closely aligned Divisions: Public Health Policy, and International Health which consist of a number of teams. The Wales Violence Prevention Unit, the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Support Hub, and the Public Health Collaborating Unit are also hosted within the WHO Collaborating Centre.

Working with other Directorates in Public Health Wales, our academic, policy and other stakeholders, we help ensure that local, national and international learning is available across our partners and networks, to support the development, mobilisation and translation of evidence, skills and solutions towards achieving healthy prosperous lives for all, leaving no one behind.
