Leading for Patient Safety

Leading for Patient Safety is a key element of the Safe Care Partnership which is between NHS Wales health boards and trusts, Improvement Cymru and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).  The Safe Care Partnership coaches and supports health boards and trusts to improve the quality and safety of care across their systems.

Leading for Patient Safety is a network of senior leaders from health boards and trusts across Wales. It brings together individuals who have a common goal of taking forward quality and safety improvement and who have undertaken the Leading for Patient Safety training programme.

The Leading for Patient Safety network has a key role in the Safe Care Collaborative. As senior leaders for quality and safety the network members will be integral to the collaborative, supporting and facilitating their organisation’s teams to maximise the opportunity of the collaborative. As a network of leaders they continue to share and learn together adding a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the safe care partnership.

Leading for Patient Safety focuses on sustainability and leaving a legacy of an on-going improvement network of senior leaders for NHS Wales.
