What's the work in this area?

An all Wales framework for the routine use of outcome tools in mental health and learning disability services has been developed.

The research was carried out with a wide cross section of mental health services which included CAMHS, adult acute inpatient, older adult acute inpatient, low secure unit, medium secure unit, community mental health team, older adult community mental health team and primary mental health support services.

Phase II – The testing of learning gathered from Phase I to create a guide of how to effectively introduce and embed outcome tools into all mental health services in Wales.

What are the next steps?

The team are working on Phase II to develop a ‘How to Guide’ for wider spread and scale which can be adapted to suit any mental health service. The ‘How to Guide’ will bring together all the learning and shared experiences of the pilot teams to create a planned approach for the next phase.
