Liaison Psychiatry
The team works to support improvements in the delivery of Liaison psychiatry services (LPS) across Wales which are designed to meet the mental health needs of those individuals who are being treated primarily for physical health problems in hospital.
The evidence for the benefits of LPS is considerable and includes decreased length of stay, reduction in psychological distress, improved service user experience, improved dementia care and enhanced knowledge and skill of general hospital clinicians.
