Have your say on our Strategic Equality Objectives

As a public health institution, we aim to embody inclusivity in all aspects of the work we deliver for the people of Wales.

Our current Strategic Equality Plan is coming to the end of its four year cycle. During recent months we have been involving staff and stakeholders in developing some draft strategic equality objectives to take us from April 2020 - March 2024.

Five themes have emerged from the workshops. These are:

  1. Understanding and advocating for diversity
  2. Attract, recruit, retain and develop our staff
  3. Fair Pay
  4. Listening, learning and responding
  5. Access  to services and our environment

We are now opening a consultation with the public for three months, as required by the Public Sector Equality Duties (2011). Staff are also invited to provide feedback on the draft objectives:

In addition to circulating this to our stakeholders, and making it available on our website, public consultation events are being held around Wales in October. These will give us an opportunity to engage with people from different groups, and get feedback on their views about our services and organisation. The deadline for responses is the 14 November 2019.

When all of the consultation responses have been received, they will be analysed and further developed into final objectives which will be published by the end of March 2020.
